HE Mrs. Porntiva Nakasai (center), Minister of Commerce, recently presided over the opening ceremony of the Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2011 (BIFF&BIL 2011), which is being held at the Challenger 2-3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani until Sunday, April 24, 2011. Attending the opening were dignitaries from member ASEAN countries, and highly-respected individuals from the Thai fashion industry.

BIFF&BIL 2011

After a successful launch in the US last fall, adidas Originals will extend the product distribution for new footwear concept MEGA in 2011, offering the holistic tech-lifestyle footwear collection globally. MEGA will consist of fresh sneaker models featuring two of the most iconic adidas technologies – “Torsion” and “Soft Cell” – amplified for modern street style. Into its second season, MEGA will offer eight different models, both hi-top and lo-top versions, in a variety of colourways and, for the first time, also including styles for women and kids.

Embracing its iconic sportswear street label, adidas Originals draws on its rich heritage in sport and ground-breaking technologies. Both “Torsion” and “Soft Cell” have roots in former athletic footwear. Taking inspiration from these functional technologies, the adidas Originals MEGA concept super-sizes these iconic elements, and fused with contemporary design, transforms the shoe from functional gear to street lifestyle. The adidas Originals MEGA concept is the answer to today’s consumers who want athletic footwear with street wear appeal without necessarily going out for a run.

This Spring/Summer 2011, the Mega Soft Cell technology will be refurbished as the Mega Soft Cell Lite. It offers all the comfort and cushion that can be found in any Soft Cell shoe, but in this makeover, the Soft Cell becomes an exposed feature, resulting in a lighter-weight shoe and a whole new outlook. Key styles for this season include the Mega Soft Cell RL (RL = Run Lite) featuring this new Soft Cell update, and the Mega Soft Cell RH (RH = Run Heel) takes a technology introduced in Fall/Winter 2010 with the Mega Soft Cell RF (RF = Run Full), to give maximum heel comfort but a more traditional forefoot look.
